And this is why Nine is my Doctor.
I miss you.
What sand really looks like—grains of sand, magnified
Photographer Gary Greenberg uses a 3D microscope to open our eyes to the microworld — a place where tiny sand grains look like colorful pieces of candy.
In Gary’s talk at TEDxMaui, he explains what we don’t see when we stick our toes in the sea:
"Each sand grain is about a tenth of a millimeter in size. When you look closer, it’s really quite amazing. You have microshells there; coral; fragments of other shells; olivine; bits of volcano; tube worms — an amazing array of incredible things exist in sand.
When we’re walking along a beach, we’re actually walking along millions of years of biological and geological history. We don’t realize it, but it’s actually a record of that entire ecology. If you look at different sands from different places — every single beach, every single place where you look at sand — they’re different.”

What is about fresh out of the oven homemade iron skillet cornbread? I know it’s for the dressing, but I just want to eat it right now with a big glass of fresh cold milk. Ugg that’s just the first batch, this batch cooking right now has a hefty dose of fresh sage all chopped up in it and it is making the house smell so good….. Sigh* I may have to make a batch just to eat.
The ability to cheer me up with either a simple song or an elaborate group performance.

The whole damn show! Yeah, they screw up big sometimes, and I hate that, but in spite of it I STILL love Glee. I love Klaine, Blam, Shannon Beiste, Becky, (and Sue’s love for her).

So I wanted to draw this little reference to show the difference between different members of the corvidae family. It sort of got out of hand… And now I think wings are a huge pain in the ass to draw and I never want to see a bird again.
Frosted rose hips. Tulit’a, Northwest Territories, Canada.
Fucking irritate me.
Not much gets to me genuinely, however these do as they trivialise the issue they’re about 100% of the time.
They set up unfair expectations of those who are suffering in relation to that issue. They let people think that issues are easily dealt with, with good wishes, prayers and intentions, without having to lift a finger to provide real help.
Please stop posting insipid begs for notes in return for doing/not doing a thing, and get real help where it can be found, or ask for it in a more constructive way!
I’m all for creating awareness about any issue, but these do more damage than good in that they make people think that all it takes to help someone is a click they’ll forget about minutes later.
